Thanks to constant efforts and innovative projects, the city of Milan is resolutely continuing on its path towards decarbonization. The extension and the optimization of its district heating network, together with the integration of even more sustainable solutions, have significantly contributed to a reduction in emissions, pushing Milan increasingly to the fore in the battle against climate change.
We produce heat for Milan from cogeneration and WtE plants, from various renewable energy sources and from industrial facilities.
Through our district heating network, we take heat into the city’s homes, offices and other buildings, some of them real symbols of Milan: the Duomo, the Law Courts building, Palazzo Marino, Palazzo Reale, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Milano Bicocca University and important new urban developments like Cascina Merlata, SeiMilano and City Life.

Our commitment to a greener and more responsible energy future for the city embraces various areas of development: from heat recovery and storage to urban redevelopment and energy upgrading.
The objective is to optimize the use of resources and improve the community’s well-being, fostering an efficient and sustainable energy model.
We are a strategic partner of the Comune di Milano city council in various projects aligned with European directives in the sphere of decarbonization through the Climate City Contract project.
In particular, our projects foresee the development of the district heating network in various parts of the city, the trialling of new technologies and the recovery of heat from data centres for the heating of buildings and other urban facilities.
